Excerpt from Chapter 7 -This is Your Brain Speaking. Feed Me, I’m Hungry!

Food Stress - Frazzled Hurried Women

"Yesterday, she fed me pizza and fries. The redeeming factor was the ketchup, even though it’s high in sugar and makes me crazy for about a half hour. However, it does contain tomatoes, which are high in lycopene, a wonderful antioxidant. So I guess I shouldn’t complain. But my circuits are malfunctioning; I’m rambling. I can’t remember squat. Today if The Hurried Woman isn’t running too fast, I might get a real dinner with some grilled chicken, brown rice and broccoli! Who am I kidding? If I’m lucky, I’ll probably get a greasy hamburger with diet soda. (Sigh), I can’t go on. I’m walking out. Oh, I can’t. I’m her brain.

Food and Mood: Are They Connected?

Can food choices be the culprit for bad moods, low energy and fuzzy thinking?  Do you sometimes feel you have “brain fog” after you eat?  Do you get up in the morning feeling tired even though you’ve slept all night? Do you find yourself getting anxious a few hours after you’ve skipped lunch or
after a high sugar content meal? If so, you’re not alone… "
